Marbais Place Refresh + Renovation

Dream Big

Shine had the opportunity to dream big with a client on the #MarbaisPlaceRefresh project over how to refresh their living space so that it represented their style and personality - light and airy, inviting and comfortable. There were elements of the spaces that carried too much visual weight - a large dark island, overstuffed brown leather upholstery, along with dark table furnishings. The before and after photos are fun to compare.

The Details

Seating more than doubled in the living room, allowing the client to host their large family as well as friends. Practicality and function meant that the new furniture had to be comfortable and hold up to cushion bounce parties and food/drink stains. Our Shine team was purposeful with each selection - from the cushion type, to the edge details to the specific fabric; all intended to hold up to wear and tear. Guess what? It has and it’s grandkid approved!

Navigating upholstery delays during the pandemic was a headache, but the end result was worth it. This client held onto their furniture until it was time for the new furniture to arrive. Shine was able to find a new home for the client's old furniture - We are grateful to be connected with great organizations such as Immerse Arkansas who was able to place the furniture with one of their young adults who recently acquired their first apartment.

The biggest compliment we received from this project renovation was that the client is thoroughly enjoying each and every room and each and every seat. Some spaces are perfect for reading and studying, then others for lounging and watching tv. There is a lightness and freshness to the revitalized rooms that invites you to do the same - take a breath, rest and relax.

The pandemic increased the length of this project; however, we had clients that were extremely patient and trusted our expertise. We all had our “eye on the prize” and  navigated obstacles as best as we could. The end result was worth waiting for and now heavily enjoyed.
