We have been working all summer while humming a little “lavender haze” and our work table has been full of lovely lavender and purple shades, so we couldn’t believe how timely this interview for Southern Living came along. Color trends are shifting—and lavender is quietly taking center stage. Once reserved for children’s rooms or cottage-core aesthetics, this dreamy hue is being reimagined in sophisticated, wellness-centered spaces. At Shine, we’re excited to see this soft shade getting the attention it deserves.
Shine Interior Design Studio partnered with Cornerstone Clinic for Women to create a second location that feels less like a clinic and more like a boutique spa. Using hospitality principles, flexible KI solutions, and Pallas Textiles, the team delivered cleanable, durable, and calming spaces for every stage of care—from lobbies to infusion suites. The project earned an ASID South-Central Excellence in Design Award.
Washable rugs have been gaining serious traction in recent years—and it’s easy to see why. From pet paws to snack spills, life happens fast. For many homeowners, the appeal of tossing a rug into the washing machine is undeniable. But are washable rugs actually a practical solution? Do they hold up? And are they right for every room?
In a recent interview with The Washington Post, Natalie shared her thoughts as a designer and mom who’s lived with washable rugs. Let’s break down what you need to know.
Congratulations to the Arkansas winners of the American Society of Interior Design South Central Chapter’s 2025 Excellence in Design Awards.

What began as a second home to stay connected with family turned into a heartfelt rebuild after a tornado damaged their newly purchased house. With Shine Interior Design Studio guiding the project from afar, the couple created a space that feels like a true retreat—infused with layered textures, timeless finishes, and deeply personal touches. This story of resilience and intentional design reveals what it really means to come home.
