Blackberry Renovation: A Tranquil Transformation

In Part One of our Blackberry Renovation series, we explored the heart of the home—spaces created for gathering, conversation, and connection. In this second chapter, we step into the private side of the project: rooms designed for rest, renewal, and everyday comfort.

The bathrooms throughout this home reflect our clients’ desire for calm and cohesion. Each one combines classic beauty with modern function, from the spa-like serenity of the primary suite to the refreshed upstairs baths where thoughtful details make all the difference.

The Primary Bathroom

The primary bath already had a thoughtful layout and elegant fixtures, but its finishes competed with one another. Cool tones clashed with warm, creating visual tension rather than calm. Our client envisioned something different—a space that felt refined, refreshing, and personal.

To achieve that balance, we blended marble, textured stone, and the existing quartzite countertops to create a soothing foundation. One of the most impactful changes came from replacing the cultured stone shower walls and glass block windows, instantly modernizing the look and allowing soft, diffused light to fill the space.

Hand-selected materials, a soft and warm layered palette, and subtle curves make this suite proof that luxury can feel grounded and deeply personal.
— Stacey Breezeel, Lead Designer

The walk-in shower is both practical and indulgent. Its marble penny-round floor adds gentle texture underfoot, while zellige wall tile in mixed sheens brings subtle movement and glow. A custom shower seat and storage niche, along with Delta champagne bronze fixtures, create a sense of understated luxury. The frameless glass enclosure enhances the openness and allows every surface to shine.

Just beyond the shower, a freestanding tub framed by an arched niche now serves as a beautiful focal point. A matte white chandelier with delicate leaf accents adds a soft sculptural touch, while a new frosted picture window ensures privacy without blocking natural light. The custom window covering, made from Italian couture fabric in rose and taupe tones, completes the scene with a graceful, tailored finish.

To ground the suite, we installed large-format Italian porcelain flooring with a warm-veined marble pattern and cashmere finish. The result feels both expansive and intimate, setting a tone of soft sophistication.

Functionality guided every decision. The original mirrors were replaced with a floating mirror that spans the full width of the vanity, creating both beauty and utility for the sink and makeup areas. This installation required precision craftsmanship, including multiple custom cuts and the addition of new sconces coordinated with the chandelier above the tub. Together, they form a cohesive lighting story that feels intentional and elegant.

One of our favorite details is the custom glass-front cabinet built into the walk-in closet wall. Though shallow in depth, it offers functional storage and an opportunity to display jewelry, scarves, or skincare with intention. Designed with a soft arch, hand-selected wood species, and coordinated stain and hardware, the piece feels as if it has always been part of the home.

The Upstairs Bathrooms: Subtle Luxury, Everyday Ease

After a prior renovation following a plumbing leak, the upstairs baths were functional but unfinished—ready for their own transformation. Our goal was to bring these spaces into harmony with the home’s refreshed character: bright, personal, and quietly elevated.

Both bathrooms received new penny-round flooring, countertops, plumbing fixtures, and tiled shower or bath areas. Replacing the old inserts with fully tiled enclosures brought instant cohesion and care. Champagne bronze fixtures and hardware add warmth and gentle glamour against the new tile and countertop selections.

In one bathroom, the client requested a raised countertop height for added comfort. Instead of replacing the entire vanity, our team designed a custom drawer row to lift the counter and increase storage. After meticulous prep, painting, and hardware updates, the change felt seamless—a simple adjustment that brought both function and polish.

Each upstairs bath carries its own personality: one bright and airy, with soft-white glazed subway tile, and the other rich and moody, centered around a deep soaking tub designed for true relaxation. The tub’s proportions make it not just beautiful, but deeply comfortable—a perfect fit for the home’s theme of restorative living.

A Home that Nurtures Balance

From the color-drenched study to these rejuvenating bath suites, every space in the Blackberry home is guided by one purpose: to create beauty that supports daily well-being. Each room feels both calm and intentional, combining thoughtful craftsmanship with comfort that lasts.

The result is a home that nurtures connection and restoration in equal measure, a place made for both gathering and retreat.
